Twelve rotten sashes replaced like-for-like with double-glazed timber units, approved by the conservation officer.
The brief
A period building in a conservation area with failing single-glazed sashes. Replacements had to satisfy the planning authority and cut heat loss for the tenants.
Our approach
Every window surveyed and its mouldings recorded. New sashes made in our workshop with slim double glazing, then fitted flat by flat so tenants were never without windows overnight.
The outcome
Approved first time by the conservation officer and installed without a single tenant moving out.
